Aurora
Once a mid-sized manufacturing city, Aurora has grown tremendously since the 1960s, and is now the second largest city in Illinois. Nicknamed the "City of Lights," because it was one of the first U.S. cities to illuminate streets with an all-electric system. Situated along the Fox River and the Ronald Reagan Memorial Tollway (Interstate 88), the city extends 46 square miles encompassing Kane, DuPage, Kendall and Will counties.
